On McDowell Road, Near 17th Street – Now Karamba after it was Boom.
Trax used to be Bullwinkle.  Trax was a Levi / leather bar, more Levi than leather though.  Dance floor, seemed to be around forever.

During 2000 it closed for a remodel.  I think it changed owners then.  It re-opened in 2001 as Boom.  Boom had a more disco-diva kind of feel.  It lost its Trax Levi feel.  In late 2004 Boom reopened as Karamba, catering to Latin gay boys.

I am the WORST with getting my cell phones wet. Never try to text in the jacuzzi with lube still on your hands.. never try to text in the shower, no matter who is calling… Never leave your phone next to a big 44 oz Thirstbuster bursting with sweat!

Luckily I went on CraigsList and found my same exact model phone, and for a mere $20 bucks! Turned out to be some tween-ager… I’m assuming from all of her pictures of her hot 16 year old boyfriend. I still have him as my wallpaper!

I have been fascinated by Personality Psychology for some time now. One of my favorite ways to understand the types is by using a list of analogies.  Here’s one I found using foods:

DKN Premier Issue

Picking up a some milk and eggs the other day, or wait.. I guess it was  lube and poppers now that I think about it.  I found a new face on the newsstand.

Walking out of Off Chute Too, I noticed Desert Knight News.

The name initially caught my eye.  There is a gay porn company called Hot Desert Knights.

Another gay paper in Phoenix?  Isn’t the local market already saturated, I thought.    How much more ad revenue could be out there?

Kevin and Jack already put out a first class arts and entertainment guide over at IONAZ.  Echo Magazine provides us with a more  traditional keep-it-clean-and-proper publication.  N’Touch is a fairly new-comer, taking the all-news, nothing but the news approach.

After the demise of X-Factor, I really do not see the leather community having an outlet here.  Niche publications can have an edge, filling a need mainstream news sources do not.

This is an exciting new addition to Phoenix and beyond, az gays wishes them well.
