I still can't believe they accepted my fake I.D. at age 15, I'm sure I looked 13.

There was a side-bar called QT connected to Hotbod's. I think "QT" stood for "quiet" lounge, but I'm not sure.

It had a glass cage around it so you could watch the dance floor but could hold a conversation. Talking was difficult out in the main area, you'd have to speak really close to the other person's ear.

QTs hours were odd, could never figure out when it was open.

During one of my first few visits to Hotbod's, one of the DJ's took me into the lounge for a drink. I guess it wasn't open yet since we were the only people in there.

He started putting the moves on me, the first time anyone had EVER touched me and I didn't know what to do! I TOTALLY FREAKED!

I'd never kissed a man, let alone had sex with one. This was totally unexpected. Maybe he should have waited until I had at least finished my first drink!

Man... I flew out of there as fast as I could.

I have a monthly gay event in NYC. Just celebrated 8 year anniversary. I am looking to expand by partnering with other promoters. Am I asking the right person? If not any guidance can you share? BTW, excellent website
Thank you

Apollos History
The building was constructed in 1967 as one of three prototypes by the contractor,it remains the only prototype left [ One of the others was Chez Nous]The original name was Mr. Fat Fingers, the owner hired Ron Farah[sp?] to turn it gay in 1977 [Ron later opened his own gay bar Farah's [ sp ?].In 1980 the bar was sold to Tom Ward [Tommy & Clyde]who late opened the Midnight Sun in San Francisco. In March 1985 the bar was sold to Bill Laybourne and Eddie Davis [Eddie passed away 5/09 ] They changed the name to Apollo's Lounge. The name came about not from the 'Greek/Roman sun god as most assume but from 'The Sons Of Apollo's' the first gay mortorcycle club in Arizona. Bill sold the bar to Lee Revelle and Ron Lindblad on May 1st 2004. Apollo's is the longest continually running gay bar in Arizona.

Dear Mr. Padlock,

Just how did I "cut" these men who fought AIDS? What makes you think I didn't fight AIDS? I fought to avoid getting it, that counts, right? I didn't bury my partner, but I've lost many friends.

If you're assuming I'm some young twink, thank you, but think again. I'm your age.

I think you're missing my point, I just want to see some hot guys. After living in San Francisco and seeing their leather community, returning to Phoenix was somewhat of a disappointment.

If that makes me a jerk, then so be it.
